Temporary file sharing without the fuss

BurnBin is a portable Windows file-sharing app for quick, temporary transfers. Choose a local file, generate a public link, and let someone download it from a clean browser page without setting up a cloud drive, account folder, or long-running file server.

The host dashboard keeps the important details in one place: uploaded files, share controls, link status, and a refresh timer for the managed BurnBin URL. BurnBin also shows Cloudflared fallback and Direct IP options, so you can quickly see which route is available before sending a link.

Recipient pages stay simple. Visitors only see the files you are sharing, and host-only controls stay private. When you want someone to send a file back, you can temporarily enable return uploads and give them an upload form on the same public page.

Features

  • Portable Windows app: download the EXE and run it locally.
  • Temporary public links: share files without a cloud-drive workflow.
  • Host dashboard: monitor hosted files, share controls, and active routes.
  • Endpoint status checks: see BurnBin, Cloudflared fallback, and Direct IP availability.
  • Clean recipient page: downloads only, with no host settings exposed.
  • Optional return uploads: let someone send a file back when you choose.
  • Local-first hosting: your machine stays in control of what is being shared.

How it works

  1. Run the portable Windows build.
  2. Choose a file from the BurnBin host dashboard.
  3. Copy the working public link.
  4. Send it to your recipient.
  5. Keep BurnBin running while the file is being shared.

Good for

  • Sending a quick build, archive, document, or asset.
  • Sharing a temporary download without creating a cloud folder.
  • Checking whether a managed link, Cloudflared fallback, or Direct IP route is reachable.
  • Letting someone send a file back only when you explicitly allow return uploads.

Install notes

Download BurnBin.exe and run it on Windows. No installer is required.

Windows may show a SmartScreen warning for unsigned builds. If you trust the download source, choose More info and then Run anyway.

BurnBin uses a dual-license model: the source code is open source, while distributed binaries are covered by the included EULA. Donations are appreciated but not required.
